Did you know that, when going to the Oslob Whale Shark, it is faster and much cheaper going to Oslob from Dumaguete? Oslob is known for its whale sharks, waterfalls, beaches, and Sumilon Island.
How to get to Oslob from Dumaguete?
There are several ways to get to Oslob. The fastest and most convenient is via fast craft ferry from Sibulan Port. To get to Sibulan port you can either directly take a tricycle/pedicab but be aware that you will need to negotiate the price for them to bring you there.
Another way is via the Dumaguete – Sibulan multicab route. The multicab terminal is located at the Dumaguete City Public Market near Colegio de Santa Catalina de Alejandria (COSCA).
Upon arriving at the ferry terminal in Sibulan, purchase your ferry tickets and pay the terminal fee. Make sure you also reserve a bus seat from the bus conductor of Ceres Liner.

A Ceres Bus will be waiting for the passengers upon arrival in Lilo-an, Santander, Cebu which is going to Cebu City. Take note of your seat number and inform the bus conductor where you want to be drop-off either at the whale shark beach or town proper. The bus ride to Oslob takes more or less 30 minutes.
How do I get back to Dumaguete?
After your day adventure in Oslob, you can easily head back to Dumaguete. The same route and mode just in reverse. At the national highway, hail a Ceres Bus that says “Bato via Lilo-An Pier” and get off at the Lilo-an pier.
At the pier, purchase a ticket to Sibulan and board the fast craft ferry.
You have several options to get back to Dumaguete once you have arrived at Sibulan Port by either by tricycle or multicab. Most convenient is the tricycle but again be aware that you have to negotiate to get the price.
